Nonna was my friend Eric’s maternal grandmother, but I knew her by no other name. Senior Accountant

Mill Town has a current opening for a Senior Accountant to join our team supporting our business portfolio and a variety of projects and initiatives. Our portfolio includes iconic local assets such as Bousquet Mountain, Bousquet Sport, and The Gateways Inn.

Overall Responsibilities:


Lead and support Mill Town’s finance team with accounting operations and projects across Mill Town’s portfolio to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of the financial statements.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure accurate recording of entries in the general ledger with specific attention to revenue, prepaids, inventory, accrued expenses and other complex balance sheet accounts
  • Collaborate with operating entity leads to maintain accurate activity in the accounting software and timely month end close procedures
  • Monitor and implement best practices and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and other financial control processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger accounts
  • Coordinate with third party bookkeeping platform when relevant
  • Collaborate with CPA partners in tax preparation process
  • Provide analytic and value-added insight on a variety of business operations and project support as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or business role with a demonstrated analytical ability
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and experience with concepts such as revenue recognition, account reconciliation, financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Experience with accounting systems
